LOCATION

Kiboswa, Kisumu, Kenya

Kisumu, the third largest city in Kenya, is situated in the west of the country on the shores of Lake Victoria, which is the second largest body of fresh water in the world.

Kiboswa is about five miles due north of Kisumu on a high range of hills about 1,500 metres above sea level.

Live Google Map
If you see just a grey square then you are in Lake Victoria - zoom out!

Look for "Mutet" (actually, that is Kiboswa) due north of Kisumu and zoom in to there.

Alara School

The old schoool buildings are at the bottom. The nw school has a red roof. The building between the two circular water tanks is the administration block.

Dago Kokore School

The village at the top right of the photograph is Kiboswa Market

The school buildings are partly hidden under the trees, just above the four cars. The building to the left of the four cars is the new infant school block. (There were three large white tents in the playing field on the day that the photo was taken)

It is interesting to compare the above photo with the one taken in 2005. The four roomed infant block is under construction, and look how much the trees have grown in just five years. And the roof has rusted since then too.

The other building to the left is Dago Kokore Secondary School.
