FUNDING EDUCATION FOR THE INFANT CHILDRENHaving built the infant school, we went one step further with a new sponsorship scheme. (Started December 2005) BETWEEN 60% AND 75% OF THE CHILDREN IN THE SCHOOL ARE ORPHANS. Friends, supporters and customers of Archive CD Books sponsor a child for their THREE years in the school, before they move up to the Primary school (8 to 14 years) which is paid for by the Kenyan government. One sponsor has very kindly paid for the orphan children in the middle and final class of the infant school, a total of 59 children for their two and one years respectively.
Below are the new children sponsored by the friends of Archive CD BooksIn addition to the children sponsored (by one kind person) in the middle and final class, we received sponsorships for a further 49 children. Not all are full orphans. Some have no parents living, some have one parent living., and all the remainder have parents but are unable to pay the fees for their children to attend the infant school. I'm really sorry that I could not get photographs of some of the children, as they were away from school during the photo sessions. We'll try to get those photographs later.
Phew! Let's move on! The 2006 project - Stage 2 - Building and Resources
